Dear Church Street School Families,
On behalf of the entire staff, I would like to welcome you to Church Street Elementary School for the 2026–2027 school year. I hope that you had a relaxing summer enjoying time with family, friends, and fun in the sun! We are eager to welcome our students back to the classroom, and we remain deeply committed to providing an equitable, supportive, and engaging learning environment for all.
In our classrooms, we want to make reading instruction build knowledge early, creating a "multiplier effect" that boosts long-term academic success. To do this, our Wit & Wisdom ELA curriculum integrates science and history to develop reading, writing, and vocabulary skills simultaneously.
In math, we continue using "Thinking Classrooms" to emphasize deep problem-solving over memorization, fostering classroom discussions that help students confidently voice their ideas. Finally, through consistent daily routines and positive behavior rewards, we support students in developing strong social-emotional skills and making great choices every day.
